New Year, Same Koala

It's the end of 2009 and the middle of a new school year. Koala Lou and I are still living in WebKinz World but now she has two backyards. One is mostly for growing vegetables and the other is for exercising, barbecuing, and sitting in the shade. By the way, here's Koala Lou in her Halloween costume.

There are lots of areas in WebKinz that I haven't explored and know very little about. I'd love people to help me learn about the places to play that are not in the Arcade. For example, I accidentally found the bowling alley. Share what you know so I can continue to explore the web site. Thanks :-)

Connecting with other People

I got a birthday letter this weekend from the people who run Webkinz World. It was exciting to get mail and I've been wondering how you can send mail to each other.

Can you invite other Webkinz pets to your pets' house to play? How do you make sure that the people and pets who contact you are people you know and not strangers?

What's Cooking?!

So here's Koala Lou's new kitchen. We have no idea what to "cook up" in here! Does your pet do any cooking? How do you know what ingredients you need and how to prepare the food?

Webkinz Games

Koala Lou has been living in Webkinz World for about two weeks. I visit every day to help her garden, feed her, and play some games. So far, I've noticed there are a few "educational" games. The trivia questions are interesting and Get Eleven Solitaire seems to be good for math facts. What do you enjoy playing? Are there any other educational games?

Koala Lou's Home

As you can see, Koala Lou has four spaces in her home: a sitting room (with bathtub and refrigerator), a bedroom, and a classroom, as well as an outdoor garden. She takes care of her vegetable plants every day: we water, rake, and check the growth of the carrots, peas, strawberries and watermelon. So far, we've harvested watermelon twice, and strawberries and carrots once. Koala Lou jumps on her trampoline for exercise, plays games for fun and loves to take a bath. My goodness this takes time every day, along with earning some cash to buy supplies.

How do you fit time into your schedule to stay up-to-date with your Webkinz friends?

Welcome!

Welcome to Koala Lou's blog about life in Webkinz World! She and I couldn't have gotten started without the help of many Hartshorn School third graders. They wrote lessons for us on signing up, setting up a home, buying food, playing games, and many other important things. We hope you will continue to add lessons and comments as Koala Lou and I explore life in Webkinz World.
Love,
Koala Lou and Ms. Goldberg
